Starting the 2026-2027 school year, FUSD has increased its requirements for volunteering during school hours to be in compliance with State legislation. For Volunteers During School Hours with Staff/Teacher Supervision
Examples: Room Parent, Field Trip Single-Day Chaperone, assisting in class/library with staff/teacher present
Requirements & Procedures:
Must be High School Graduate
Submit or renew a Civicore volunteer registration application. Please complete ALL fields/questions in the application, including Emergency Contact. Room Parents would select "On-Campus with Supervision" under "Type of Volunteering."
NOTE: Civicore accounts for volunteers who created their Civicore accounts or registrered before July 2025, were deleted by Civicore as part of a system update. Volunteers whose previous accounts were deleted will need to create a NEW account using a DIFFERENT email address. They cannot use the same email address associated with their previously deleted account.
Upload the following completed documents within the Civicore application:
Upload image of Govʼt Issued ID / Valid Passport
Complete Keenan Mandated Reporter Training (~1 hour with questions - must be taken within one sitting)
NOTE: This Mandated Reporter training is an annual requirement. Certificates must be completed through Keenan Safe Schools and must be valid within the current fiscal year (e.g., July 2026 through June 2027)
Click “Register” in the Login area and use the Registration Key: c5542700
Upload Completed Certificate PDF for Mandated Reporter when completed
Email Gomes Secretary Contiza when finished to notify her that you submitted the Civicore application and to approve on her end. Her email is ccollantes@fusdk12.net.
For Volunteers During School Hours WITHOUT Staff/Teacher Supervision
Examples: Volunteers driving students for school events such as field trips, overnight chaperones for Science Camp
Requirements & Procedures:
Must be 21 years of age

Upload your Car Insurance Policy Cover Page (NO CAR RENTALS) - Insurance Company for at least split limit coverage of bodily injury and liability per person, $300,000 per occurrence and $50,000 property damage, OR $300,000 combined single limit liability coverage and $50,000 property damage
Upload completed Declaration of Parent/Volunteer Driver Form
Upload approved LiveScan Fingerprints form (pg. 3) from an approved Fingerprinting vendor - volunteer to pay out of pocket fee (~$80-100)
NOTE: The fingerprinting must be for FUSD. Fingerprinting for other entities will not count. Once you are fingerprinted with FUSD, you do not need to do it again for future years. Please keep a record of your certification just in case.
Upload Certificate of Completion TB Risk Assessment and/or Examination (pg. 4) - volunteer to pay out of pocket fee
NOTE: TB tests typically require two separate days for testing within the same week with your medical provider so please plan accordingly.
For overnight chaperones ONLY: Upload Chaperone Liability Waiver form
